They go to live like the people they study.
They do not study the village; they study in the village.


Key terms/ concepts:
1. Culture shock

3.Culture rilativism

The “anthropological perspective”
1. Comparative or cross-cultural study
2. Holism
3. Cultural relativism

However, cultural relativism does not mean:
-judgment is impossible
-anything a culture does is good/ moral/ valuable/ normal
-anything a culture believes is true
-there are no cultural universals
-everything is relative
-culture cannot be compared
