Course Introduction- Part II

The goal of this course is to understand the concept of culture 
and its role in contemporary society. 

Part II will explore what anthropologists do in fieldwork and 
how it can be practiced more broadly.

Each group will have an article of the original study.Summarize it in your
words, and share with your classmates.

About John Marshall
*an American anthropologist and a filmmaker
*best known for his work recording the lives of the Ju/’hoansi tribe
  (also called the !Kung Bushmen) from 1950-2000
*Bushman film and video collection contains:

-767 hrs of original film and video
-23 published films and videos, 1 video series, and 29 unpublished ones
-309 hrs of audiotape
-13.7 liner feet of papers and photographs
-4 original maps, over 100 additional maps
